Young Man, That Jacket Is A Beauty! :bigstar: :bigstar: :bigstar:

@jcmeyer

Nice combo.

The "cut" of this coat seems off to my eye. The quarters are wayyyy too open (rounded) and throws the lower block of the jacket out of balance (IMHO). This makes the slight shortness of the coat even more apparent. A closer quarter would have helped obscure this.

But... but how am I to reconcile these two comments?

I don't love the jacket either, Alan, although not for the same reasons. That's why it's for sale. ;)

But in terms of the quarters, I don't think the openness is that egregious. It's more open than I would do if it were made for me (this is RTW) but I don't find it displeasing. It's a bit too slim through the waist which is also opening the quarters even more.

Interesting that it looks short since the length is actually on the longer side for me -- good visual example of how opening the quarters makes a jacket look shorter.

In any case, thanks for the comment and compliment on the combo itself.

That looks like me when I worked undercover narcotics. I didn't realize the hand in the pocket was as obvious as it must have been. Perhaps I wasn't as undercover as I thought...

Today's "Piece-Of-A-Person" picture, a piece of a person with a white chocolate chip and cranberry oatmeal cookie picture.

Always stop at Vanilla Bake Shop (on Colorado near Raymond in Pasadena CA) and get a white chocolate chip and cranberry oatmeal cookie whenever I am in Pasadena.

Was in Pasadena today to go to the 2nd anniversary event at The Bloke, a men's shop on Lake Avenue in Pasadena.

Here's one of the pictures Jeff (the owner) took today at the event. This may be the first time a Rowing Blazers jacket (the green jacket on the right) has appeared in this group. Rowing Blazers is one of the lines available at the Bloke.

Fans of men's wear (or anime) drawings may recognize Ryan Cecil Smith (the artist who does some of the men's style drawings for the "Put This On" blog) on the left in this picture. Ryan brought his (very cute) little dog, who unfortunately did not get in this picture.

Brooks Brothers tweed jacket and BB#1 stripe repp tie, L L Bean yellow OCBD and corduroy trousers, and Jim Thompson pocket square.

Yes, I am wearing shoes. I'm wearing (made in 1984) Allen-Edmonds Oakmont saddle shoes.

The Bloke is located in a building that is (sort of) a replica of the Burlington Arcade in London.

Soft contrast ...

H. Lesser summer hopsack over Crispaire trousers

Alan Bee

I never truly appreciated the way a tailored trouser could drape until I landed in this thread and saw some of your photos. The number of slim tapered legs in my wardrobe is fast approaching zero now.
