Early morning start. Here wearing my soft tailored navy classic chalk stripe DB, paired with EG split toe dover on #32 last.

@mcobinad

Well done Barrister. I would make some stylistic changes to your choices (left to me).

1. I don't think 'Doppia Impuntatura" aka Double Stitched lapel edges belongs on a worsted suit let alone a navy pinstripe
2. Ditto for the trouser waistband. I wouldn't do that on a suit trouser and if pushed, it must be on a casual suit in linen or cotton.

Very well fitted young man. But I'm having some trouble with the styling specially the button placements. Appears to be a "Cifonelli" styled 6x1 gone terribly wrong.

@Newcomer

I don't know but those tan shoes aren't doing that fit many favors. A pair of dark burgundy loafers or even oxfords (Cap or brogue) would have killed it off completely. A much darker brown might also work.

I agree with you that these tan shoes are not the best match however in my opinion mixing green and burgundy is not the best idea - easy to achieve Santa Claus helper look. I think that brown or dark brown suede captoes would look great with that suit.

WSR, I meant "very dark burgundy" shoes. Like #8 Cordovan dark not reddish oxblood. Good call on Mocha or Mink Suede.

If you buy off the rack, go up at least 2 sizes from what you have posted here and then have an alterations tailor take it in where needed. That's way easier than starting with tight fitting jackets and try to go from there. Tbh, I don't even think the latter is possible for you.

This is definitely the general consensus and the MO I'll stick to when shopping next.

Keep on posting, but try and sell exactly all of the jackets you've posted here. The overcoat is salvageable, but I would have an alterationist fix one of the shoulders. If you've thrifted these jackets you can probably get back the same amount you bought them for and let those funds go into new stuff!

Will get the shoulder looked at as I'd love to wear that coat more.

As for the jackets to sell, most are brands I'll easily turn a decent profit on. Maybe enough to entirely fund something that fits much better... fingers crossed!

The weather continues to be mild and dry in NYC - perfect weather for a lightweight suit. Today's tie is my latest acquisition, my efforts in assisting Bergdorf's in getting rid of stock at the end of the season.

Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt - Brooks Brothers MTM
Tie - Charvet
Braces - Paul Stuart
Cufflinks - DVVS, NYC (now defunct)
Pocket square - vintage, no name brand
Boots - Magnanni
Hat - Seifter Associates
