Friday, and warm, for March, albeit overcast, with threat of rain in the early evening. Today's attire engendered a last-minute substitution - I had originally thought that I would attempt an ascot today, but the effect veered too far from David Niven, and much too close to Thurston Howell III, so I opted for the bow tie instead. Sagacious or cowardly - you be the judge.

Sports jacket - Chester Barrie, via Austin Reed, London
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Bow tie & ascot - both no name brand
Cufflinks - Penhaligon's (most likely made by Deakin & Francis)
Pocket square - New & Lingwood
Jeans - Levi's
Boots - Magnanni
Cap - Paul Stuart

Hello,

New semi-bespoke suit from Naples.
I love the wide lapels and high-waisted pants. A very successful commission. Is the low gorge their house style or did you have to ask for it?

Funny you should mention that @smittycl ; I was going to say the opposite. Very nice suit, but any time you take trends to their logical conclusions the results tend not to age well. I think it would have been better served without those particular details, especially since the rest is so well proportioned. Just my opinion.

I like the lowered gorge a lot, though. I'm sick of high gorges.

First time wearing this jacket and I’m coming to like the shoulder roping. But god damn these short arms of mine.

Also taking the new socks out for a spin and I love em.

SC: Zegna XXX
Shirt: Kamakura
Tie: (possibly my favorite) Sevenfold
Pants: Rota
Shoes: CS

Many thanks for the kind words. I believe the low gorge by default is their house style. I didn't ask for it. However, I find it aesthetically pleasing conversely to my English styling.

I'm just getting tired of narrow lapels and would like to see wider ones in general. I've gone around 4" for last few MTMs.
