@upr_crust I never even thought about the suit / Derby or Blucher combination before I joined SF. Looks absolutely fine to me.

@coldsalmon I like the TV fold light blue hanky and it seems to work well in this combo.

A cool start to October here with nice autumn colours now well in evidence. The little man-made garden I often sit in is called 'Woodland Colours'. It seems a particularly apt description at this time of year:

I am getting some of my jackets let out because they tend to open beneath the button, like yours does in this photo. I'm not sure what the SF orthodoxy is on this point, but I'm trying to get enough room that the jacket completely hides my shirt and tie when I'm standing up straight, without having to rearrange it manually or stand in a perfect robo-pose. Obviously tie length and trouser rise will affect this standard.

As you can see below, my jacket today does not really succeed, so I'm on my way to Suitsupply to get it tailored. I have tried to show the difference between good and bad posture in these two photos. My tie is also a bit too long. I tried to artfully obscure these issues in my main post earlier today.

Again, I'm not sure what the appropriate standard is for this, or even what the appropriate term is for this issue, but I am personally concerned with it at the moment.

Sorry that PS destroys an otherwise good fit. Just take a pic with no square.
I would have liked a lighter, less saturated shade of blue myself. Would you consider the basic concept to be unsound generally, or just in this particular execution?

Generally unsound with the rest of that fit. Just try some variation of the other colors in your fit and probably with a white or cream base. And not in a tv fold.

In order to have that look, a few things need to happen. The jacket’s buttoning point and the trousers’s rise have to meet around the same spot.

Also, your tie has to be tied properly meaning not too long like it is now. I’m afraid that due to the buttoning point of the suit’s jacket that you’re wearing, you wouldn’t be able to have that look.
