If it’s not clear from this photo, I love Blackwatch. I actually have six pairs of Blackwatch pants.

It is a very popular pattern in America and in general. Maybe not where you’re from. Many companies make multiple clothing items every year in this pattern. It’s a classic.

You often share your opinion about what you see, but I don’t recall you sharing any of your own outfits if my memory serves me.

You told us two or three days ago that you didn’t like metal buttons when I wore my double breasted blazer. We remember.

I noticed that outfit in full Blackwatch, it seems to me as one wearing the colours of his team in the stadium. I don't always feel to comment, especially when I haven't anything positive to say. Now you said it yourself, maybe too sombre.
I live in Berlin (admittedly not a style hot spot) and haven't ever seen anybody wearing Blackwatch, nor I saw that in Rome.
It could be a classic in America or in Britain though.

Not everybody feels to put himself on the web. You can see some of my garments in the thread Rock Your Socks.
I think that purpose of a forum is to discuss some subjects, also genuinely and respectfully criticising what one does not like.

Now that I'm sure you remember it, I won't repeat any longer that I dislike metal buttons.

Ideally, I'd like to keep the outfit monochromatic. The shoes are dark brown scotchgrain. Still in search for the ideal black reverse split toe in grained leather.

@An Acute Style - two things I like about that recent pic: 1 you’ve folded black watch strides into a conservative outfit without them shouting down the rest of the outfit. Sometimes sombre is good! 2. I repeat my assertion that the silhouette of flat front strides looks much better on you than your more recent leaning towards pleated baggies!

@An Acute Style - two things I like about that recent pic: 1 you’ve folded black watch strides into a conservative outfit without them shouting down the rest of the outfit. Sometimes sombre is good! 2. I repeat my assertion that the silhouette of flat front strides looks much better on you than your more recent leaning towards pleated baggies!

1) Thanks. The next iteration will definitely shout. You know I gotta do it both ways.
2) I wish pleated pants were as comfortable as flat front for me. Comfort trumps looks sometimes.

I bought this bespoke jacket made by Elia Caliendo for a song - it's a surprisingly good fit given it's not my pattern. Just needs a bit of letting out at the side seams. Or I need to stop eating so many steaks and drinking so much wine but where's the fun in that?

The cloth is amazing though, just the right shade of oatmeal, Loro Piana - 85% cashmere, 15% wool, 11oz. It's noticeable but subtle at the same time, I love wearing it.

Worn with W&S bespoke trousers in Drapers 4-ply, 100 Hands OCBD, and Edward Green Belgravia.

True, but I guess most RTW has a pattern that's designed to fit as many people as possible. In this case, this jacket was made for a person with more sloped shoulders than me and an overall different posture which is why I was surprised it's such a good fit. Lucky for me I guess.
