Sad to hear mate. But sometimes is needed. I've been mostly posting here and in the socks-shoe-trouser thread cause in some other threads people think posting equals spam.Well gents, present and past, here I go:
I have reached a point, after all these years posting and learning here, where I need to move on.
There have been so many well dressed, and quite a number of not so successful dressers, that have thought me so much about sartorially this and that, what and what not.
But lately I have been going in circles, and I have gotten bored, and posting here has become more OCD than splendid joy and excitement.
Therefor I have decided to take a longer break, and during that time consider to retire from waywrn
Thanks to all for the ride, it has been a true pleasure, and contrary to common belief; I have never received any hate in here.
God bless you all.
Always look forward to your tales of high adventure, mate!Once again waving at the San Juan Capistrano Depot Cam after arriving in San Juan Capistrano.

Brooks Brothers jacket and tie, L L Bean OCBD shirt, Dunn & Company vest, Jim Thompson pocket square, Orvis corduroy trousers, and Allen-Edmonds shoes. (Yes, you are right. Not many people traveling since the pandemic began.)
For fans of "Piece-Of-A-Person" pictures, a piece of a person checking his watch to make sure the train is departing on time. (It did.)

Since the shoes don't show in the "Piece-Of-A- Person" picture, the shoes and some Amtrak carpeting.

Extra Added Attraction Picture: Since few people are traveling and some of you don't live anywhere near here, Downtown Los Angeles as seen from a train approaching from the south. The train is just about to cross over the Los Angeles River.
With a green filter Downtown Los Angeles would look like OZ.

Took an old favorite out for some fresh air today, probably for the only time this Winter.

Very nice. I think this outfit really deserves a black shoe. Especially with the gray rollneck.Hola!
Thanks E! Went with those, since I thought the rollneck added a bit more casualness to the combo.Very nice. I think this outfit really deserves a black shoe. Especially with the gray rollneck.

Ah, yes, that would work, indeed.I was thinking black loafers: tassel or penny.
Loden jacket, cashmere tie, and lambswool pants.

You might be able to find some older Brooks Brothers tuxes around eBay for a decent price. This one isn't exactly your size but is pretty close!Gents, thought I'd post here as you're all connoisseurs of good suits/coats.
I'm attending a wedding in June and the ask is black tuxes.... I don't own one and I'm thinking about finding a nice (cheap?) tux on eBay (used) and getting it altered.
I'm quite tall and wear a 40L with a 32x34 pant... Can anyone steer me in a good direction for tux brands to look at? I have some familiarity with good suits, but none with tuxes.
Not looking to break the bank, but if I can find a decent tux for cheap and spend a little coin to tailor it, I think it would be great.
Bonus: kind of thought a shawl collar would be awesome since I've always loved that style. I have no other occasions to wear a tux at the moment, but would prefer to spend the money and purchase rather than rent.
Thanks in advance!
