A relatively recent rig from a charity event the other weekend.
Bow skills needs a ton of work, but the tux went over pretty dang well.

Edit: anybody have cummerbund suggestions? The rise on the trews are quite a bit lower than I’d prefer, and definitely want one to bridge the gap, as it were. Considering giving Smathers & Branson a try, at least for this particular tux.

Cross post from MTM thread:

Since there will be few days left to wear the spring summer jackets as its already getting cold here, I thought I'd share this one. This is a Loro Piana wool silk linen blend in which everything is light. The cloth is light, the canvas is light, the shoulders have basically nothing in them. It's light... I also had it made with a quarter lining, in the interest of being light. The thing is, I think this will be the last jacket I make without a full lining. I cant tell a difference in how it wears from a heat perspective (I'll be hot, sweaty and miserable regardless), and I always notice little outlines or bulges from the partial lining. Anyway, bundle up out there...

I have that jacket too! I know the jacket is loud, but I think you've toned down the other items too much. The jacket looks out of place like you were trying to wear a conservative outfit and got adventurous at the last moment. If you want something conservative, I'd say khaki pants are a good neutral here. I usually wear my jacket with green pants, but I love lots of colors. Enjoy it.

I'm not surprised in the least to hear that you have this one as well!
I do have a couple of pairs of khakis which are next on the wear list with that jacket.

Attolini.jpg

Covid, Covid, Covid.

Of all the human suffering that has followed in the wake of the pandemic, this is just a tiny annoying little footnote in my life. But sometimes I still think about the brand new Attolini suit that I can't wear because all the tailors are closed and I need to fix the length of the pants and get buttons on the sleeves...

Very nice combo of textures and colors. Why isn't your arm in your other sleeve? Are you trying to show off your suspenders?

You could also get a different hanger. The creases at the knee look like they are from a hanger.

Thank you, been trying to play more with textures recently. Autumn is just a good season to get away from shiny silk and more into "fuzzier" textures.

The answer with the arm is simply that it gave the best picture this time. What to do with your arms is a always a question when photographing menswear: the picture with my arms by my side always look terribly flat, and having my hand in my pocket (the way you have in your profile picture) just didn't give me any good pictures. So this was a "least bad pic" kind of situation for today.

But the braces are pretty nice, I think they do ok showing off a bit :)

The pants have actually been stored folded (yes, I know...), which no doubt explains many of the wrinkles. Not enough storage space to have them all hanging.

I'm with you, posing sucks and it's weird....but...I refuse to believe removing one of your arms out of one of the sleeves yielded the best result.

Just imitate others. We're here for the clothes, not the pose(s).
