Even better with rust tie?Corduroy for me too yesterday. Gurteen cord and bespoke worsted flannel.

Yes, I think it probably is. Last time I wore the jacket I had on a tattersall check shirt and rust woollen tie. This Balmain tie is hard to pin down - it shades from navy to brown!Even better with rust tie?
Don't be so hard on yourself. Fit looks pretty good to me!
Confession: ...
No horizontally striped trousers?Actually what I was wearing earlier this week: flannels, oxford shirt, grenadine tie and derbies from Crocket&Jones. Also, astute viewers may figure out what my reading habits are from the background...

At all is a strong phrase. I'm wearing six items. You don't think any of them work together? A different jacket, no vest, a different shirt...or do you just dislike all six items on their own?I usually like your style but this doesn't work at all for me.
I strongly disagree with this suggestion. I like it as-is, but if I were to suggest an improvement it would be to use a lower-contrast stripe for the shirt.
Edited to incorporate @sugarbutch 's reply
Sport coat and trousers work well together.
Mostly agree with @FlowableFill, although I would try the shirt/sport coat combo with a solid tie and see if that brings it together. Agree with SB, but would definitely recommend a solid tie if you are keeping the shirt in the outfit.
Regardless, either the shirt or tie need to be solid.
Agree with Sugarbutch. Neither the shirt nor the tie needs to be solid. Check out Alan Flusser's style tips. It's fine that the jacket and shirt patterns are of similar scale, so long as the tie stripes are a different scale than the shirt's, which these are. Yes, it's tricky to mix patterns well, but it's been done masterfully here.

Confession: I did not wear this sport coat today. I chose a different sport coat last night, but I didn’t like it this morning. I ended up just wearing the vest and no jacket for much of the day. My jackets are in my son’s room and he was sleeping. I didn’t want to wake him up to get a different jacket. Anyway this is the jacket I would have worn.

I like all of the items on their own, just not together
