As stated in my previous post, I went to my local Saks Fifth Avenue to pick up my latest sartorial farrago, a navy velvet jacket, a sartorial "crime of opportunity" (i.e. the jacket was heavily marked down). On getting it home, I decided to try wearing in three different ways - casual, semi-dressed up, and somewhere approximating formal. The results are as shown below - the jury is still out as to how versatile this jacket will be . . .

I am envious. I really want a similar jacket. I like all of the variations, but I dare say a bit lighter wash on the denim would offer a nice bit of contrast.

All of them works but in the end the bowtie still wins.
Yeah I mostly agree.
I have a black velvet jacket Crusty which I wear as you have in number one, only with evening strides not jeans. That comes out for festive season house parties.
Number two is a bit of a hybrid, number three looks fine!

Today's outfit: errands on campus.

The fit of these chinos dissatisfies me at the moment. My quarantined summer of reading has diminished my "to be read" stack, whilst distending my waistline. Perhaps I need to start taking a passeggiata in the evening?

Jacket, shirt, trousers: Brooks Brothers.

Pocket "round" (sans corners): 319 Men, Charleston.

Socks: Absent.

Vintage items from eBay, thrift, & consignment: Stubbs & Wootton "green" slippers.

Timex Weekender watch with Smart Turnout watch band.

Mask by Mom.

Glasses and sunglasses: Warby Parker. .
