1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Thanks, I just got it. My first one from HC.

Love that tie, Cleav. Looking good, my friend!

And it's a very skinny tie.

Thanks, I definitely need guidance as I'm starting to try and dress better for the first time. Comments are appreciated.

Mmm, deets on these shoes too if you don't mind?

I'm looking for a nice pair of dark brown semi-brogues and I'm a fan of ones with broguing with no zigzagging (which, I'm sure, is the technical term). They're harder to come by though.

Welcome @SylishDad ! Thanks for posting.

I think your outfit shows some signs of promise; namely that you're trying to match things based in similar colour groups, which is good. [IMG] However as you suspected you can't go mad with patterns all the time!

In your particular outfit, I would have, for example, swapped out the shirt for a plain white one (with a non button-down collar) and gone for a wider, solid dark brown tie - knitted or grenadine would add some extra texture. That way, you're still keeping things in the brown/beige palette without going crazy; the pocket square would then pick up the white in your shirt and the brown in your tie.

I would definitely also look for wider ties in the future to keep everything in proportion - yours is far too skinny even for your relatively slim lapels. Skinny ties like yours suit very few men in reality, so I would avoid. I would also personally lose the tie clip, but that's just me.

Thank you for your very thorough answer. I guess I'll have to find my "space invaders" skinny tie a new home.
I'll take your advice, moving forward, when putting an outfit together.

@justinkapur , is that Ring Jacket a navy creamy waffle or the lighter blue (#236, I think?) option? I have a navy from Khakis of Carmel coming tomorrow and can't wait to start wearing it.

No problem, that's what these threads are for. I've done a quick mock up of the visual difference it could make - excuse the bad photoshop skills! I'm sure there's endless other combinations that could work great too but you get the idea :)
