1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    No. Don't resew anything.

The thread that attaches the brace button to the waist band is what holds the pants up. Usually a special, super strong thread involving many passes and anchored completely through the waist band, just as belt loop, serving the same function, is sewn completely thru the waistband. It's not unsightly, it's purposeful.

I think this jacket has an acute style.

I politely disagree. Have no quarrel that the thread/braces buttons have to be solidly attached, but it can be done without poking through the outside of the pants. I have lots of pants done this way (without showing), and have never, ever, had a single button pull loose.

The shirt and tie have no place in this outfit.

Thanks for your feedback. I wear this suit quite often with spread collars, but I also like the suit with BD and sometimes I need some variety. Yes, the stitching is poking through and I can totally understand if you don't like that, but the fabric is very light and the soft unfused waistband wouldn't stay in place without poking the stitching through the front. I could go for a less soft canvas, but I prefer a soft waistband and that's always a bit difficult with braces.

It's the same length as pretty much all of my odd jackets. I think I've mentioned before I have an unusually long body/arms and relatively short legs, so jackets much longer than this tend to make me look out of proportion a bit, whereas this length pretty closely 'cuts me in half' if you know what I mean.

Ah, I see. It would probably be easier to see in a full body shot, but I totally get what you are saying.

I imagine a solid blue shirt would have been better, but I need to do laundry. The tie matches the pants which I know is frowned upon here. Are you saying that I shouldn't wear a tie at all with this outfit or just not this one? Or do you just not like this shirt and tie combo? I can see both being true.

What? I swear that if someone would have asked me I would have said that you were around my age (27).

HAHA! Too funny. Subconscious inspiration, perhaps? It's one of those things we may never know.

If I'm going to participate in this thread, I had better start posting my own fits, at least from time to time. All the usual stuff about the difficulty of taking selfies applies and nobody cares, right? So, I'll try to do better as I get used to doing this. Having said that, this is what I wore today, on a hot day in Silicon Valley.

    Great outfit.

    And man-fellows of Styleforum:

This is a man's forum for men—mighty men—and I think we can all summon the will to resist adopting a lifelong smoking habit based solely on Sander's fit pic if we try.

Besides, if he was posed next to a '66 Triumph Bonneville you'd be oohing and ahhing, not frantically flapping your hands about his appearing next to something so dangerous.

So everybody wrestle a shark or something until your vital essences begin flowing again. There. Isn't that better?
