Hopefully a better warm and cool integration here. The jacket has pink, green, and rust in the glen plaid. The tie is grey and brown. I think dark brown shoes may have been better.

No snow slogging needed today. [IMG][IMG]

Also, for giggles, I put this together with a few things I will likely put up for sale in the next couple of weeks, and that I may or may not get a chance to wear again before they sell. [IMG][IMG]

The tie doesn't work there, AAS

[IMG] But it's grey like my pants and brown like my jacket. What tie would have worked better?

Not everything has to match. In fact, often something that matches is worse. However, that doesn't mean that the pieces have to be extremely discordant either. Now, I don't mind your usual style, quite like it, but this one is just a miss. You tend to go for extreme matchiness, or extreme discordance, and less so for anything in between. The outfits on either ends of this scale are the ones that often end up failing.

Anyways, a light grey tie only works with a very pale blue or white shirt, not with the one you're wearing now.

That's a beautiful green herringbone tie.

Fantastic suit! I know it's been discussed elsewhere, but my own 2 cents would be to shorten the trousers ever so slightly. Awesome regardless, though. Thanks for sharing!

Nice fit from what I can see. Do u have distinctive shoulders? I mean, such that ppl will recognize u by them.. [IMG]

Hi there Jfrater, I was wondering what had happened to u. It's a weird thing... I can understand that brand cachet lets Rubi charge more for their squares, but I don't understand why no other menswear specialists AFAIK do 16 by 16" silk screens. BTW Sam Hober has some new 'Impressionist' squares. Some of them look fantastic. Can't speak for the quality but his ties are generally good.

missed by that much AAS. Almost awsm. IMO

I've been watching mostly and going out a bit which has kept me busy. I agree about the 16x16 - the Rubinacci squares are just a delight to behold and to wear. I hope they bring out some new ones soon - I ended up getting at least one of each design (some in more than one color). I like the Sam Hober squares - the impressionist ones, but I bought a couple of his other styles in the past and ended up never wearing them so I am a bit reticent to get the new ones.

Beautiful suit! And I don't even like solaro... My only nit pick would be to shorten the sleeves and the trousers a little bit.
Love the combination of green and purple. Deserves a better pic...

Thanks! And, yes my photo skills are a complete disaster. It's one of the reasons I don't post more frequently. I aspire to do better (gonna get a camera and practice, etc.), not simply for SF, but because I'm just sick of having lame pics of everything...

Your SF status has been downgraded.

Anyhow, not only is it unsafe to assume someone's nationality but it is even more unsafe to get the NE Asians confused with SE Asians, mainly because thr NE Asians have a tendency to look down on SE Asians. A sensitive topic but it's true...

That is true. On second look, I would say the shirt and cardi don't go with the rest. I guess I've become so accustomed to your approach that I was thinking more about how to make the tie work in the rather discordant context instead of fixing the whole thing. :)
