Monkeyface, I like the tie pattern, but I'd prefer it more if the red was darker, closer to burgundy. In general, I don't like check shirts like that with suits. Sportcoats only and with a button down collar, but hey, I can't help that I'm American.

Thank you, I would prefer that too, but then it wouldn't match the Dutch flag. Last time I wore that shirt with a sport coat, and people said it was more appropriate for a suit. Perhaps it's just not an appropriate shirt at all?

That jacket is exceptional. What is the material, linen? It looks almost like cigar raw silk.
Thank you for your kind comment. I am happy to know that you like my jacket. It is a fabric made of 100% raw silk. He has more than 40 years of life that cloth. And it was the last piece that I found from Vecchio Drappiere of Milan.

Today.
Vintage Gray & Lampel Sal Piccolo Trafalgar (tie & belt) Drake's Zanella Pantherella Church's
Roped shoulder looks good. Dig the close ups; gives a nice perspective of texture and weave. Orange Tie Power! :slayer:

This is more of a general remark, but I notice that many people pose with their hands extremely turned inwards -- the way a monkey stands. I'm not sure whether this is your natural pose or just because of the camera, but it's a result of a shoulder that's very rolled forwards. It's usually a sign of a significant muscle imbalance between the chest and back, and can lead to many health issues later in life (a hunchback for one). Also, it just looks bad.

A healthy pose is with your thumbs pointed forwards, and can be achieved by doing several corrective exercises a week. Anyway, do with this information what you want, but I thought it might be of help to some.

If I roll back my shoulders in a full erect (heheh) posture then my lapels bow and you will call me a weirdo. So the robopose includes slightly rounded forward.

Speaking of, that happens to me on every single jacket I have ever owned. Either I'm just f'd with square, thrown back shoulders......or I can do what? Make the chest bigger?

Just wanted to give you guys a headsup that we started a tumblr, thus catching up to 2012: It's supposed to give a decent idea of what Styleforum is all about, which seems to be mostly clothes, and then shoes, watches, food, and random, vaguely amusing, quotes, in pretty much that order.

Give us some follow love:

And reblog. We'll be giving out prizes for reblogs/recaptions, and just random stuff, at some point.

You don't want your shoulders to be all the way back either. That could be caused by a stronger back in comparison to your chest. Either way, that can be corrected too, and it isn't all that difficult to do it either, it just takes some time.

Ideally your shoulders would be at a straight line down your body, you can see it best when looking from the side. If your lapels bow with your shoulders at a natural position while standing up straight, you probably need a bigger chest. Some other things might need to be different too, but a tailor will be better at this.

You don't want to wear jackets that force you to roll your shoulders in order to look good. I have to say that most RTW is made for people with slightly rounded shoulders, as a lot of people suffer from this.
