1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

New pants back from the tailor. PRL cotton glen plaid with daks adjusters and belt loops. Believe it or not, I've never owned a pair of sunglasses. These, my first, arrived today. $13 from J. Crew Factory. Getting ready for spring break. What do you think? They may be a bit big. I probably won't wear them with tailored clothing.

Thanks! They are from Bass. They aren't as nice as the Brooks Brothers pairs, but it's all I could find when I was looking.

It bothers me you wearing a neat like that, but I think I'm too fastidious.
I really think it's fine, and you look good as always.

And... it's me again. I actually wore this today.

Vintage blazer, Tyrwhitt shirt, BB madder, eBay links, gift PS, plus Lands' End boots.

Well yeah, it's called highly deliberated professional photo shoots!

Yeah, I should have mentioned that I too really enjoy all the excellent photography. It's just, well...a little strange/overly precious, maybe? I mean, I just want to know what you wore today, NOT what you curated for a day-long photo shoot. Sometimes a bathroom selfie is enough, or anything that actually depicts clothes being worn in the wild, so to speak...

Thing is... a long time ago most of us discussed that phenomenon and resigned ourselves to the fact that photography skills do play a role in what seems to look good around here. Looks like you have been around a while so you may remember that. That doesn't mean that the issue shouldn't be discussed further, it's just, yeah, good photography does add something. How much is up for debate.

Plenty of people with better clothes and worse pictures than mine getting more thumbs and compliments than me, for whatever that's worth.

Anyway, I like good photos, and my business card says "photographer," so I have a minimum standard to meet.

When I post pictures, my wife takes three pictures just before I walk downstairs to head to the car. We probably take 4 or 5 total, and she picks the best 3. i stand in one spot, and just adjust based on light :) no curating. I for one like some of the highly skilled photos.
