What's the consensus on wingtips? My understanding is that they were once considered very formal, but I too now regard them (anything with broguing, really) as at most business casual.

I think Tom Ford doesn't get a lot of love here but I find his fabrics to be beautiful and his clothes very well tailored.

    Sup, y'all?

I really shouldn't keep wearing these baggy pants, but they're so comfortable.

    Phone is matchy-matchy with shirt.

EDIT: Jfrater, I like what you have going on, but I think the shoes are too casual (they're just about right in formality for the cloth of the suit, but I think the white shirt and restrained furnishings make it a touch dressier). In a perfect world, you'd be able to find a shirt with a spread collar that perfectly continues the seam between collar and lapel (something I normally don't sweat, but I think the seam on that lapel is placed differently in order to make that possible).

@AAC, those trousers look great and the fit is superb. Honestly, not many people get a fit that perfect, IMO.

Very nice but you'd better put on some socks before venturing out. ;)

@An Acute Style , what brand are the jacket and pants? Digging the peak lapel blazer. Looks rad!

Thanks. The pants are PRL made in Italy extrafine virgin wool from eBay. I had my tailor hook them up a bit. I also thrifted the jacket. It's from Suit Supply.

Those look great. You'll find it hard to wear skinny pants after wearing those,

I generally think more ornamentation=more casual. True for suiting fabric, true for shoes. But truth is, to most people wearing leather shoes=dressed up. This also goes for balmoral vs blucher/oxford. The latter is technically more casual but to the lay person, leather shoes = dressy.

Depends on the shoe in my opinion. Some wingtips are plenty formal and others are plenty casual.

Absolutely right. Just one small correction it should be balmoral/oxford vs blucher :)
