Thanks man. You made the observation before but I like them. They are comfortable and it's in rotation of many shoes so durability isn't an issue

Funny, you know I think these sleeker single soles look just right on you, yet on Don Coloogne, who is also a big guy, I think the gunboat style of shoo works great - so now I don't know what to think.

First rush pix of my new Sartore OTR suit.

I deliberately sized up to a 52 here, in order to solve the lapel bowing problem I've had with so many of my jackets (blame the barrel chest). I then had my tailor narrow the shoulders and suppress the waist.

I'm pretty happy with the result, although I suspect he's cuffed the trousers 1cm or so too short.

Fabric is a super 120's flannel from Vitale Barberis Canonico, with a gorgeous soft hand almost like cashmere. Predominantly dark brown with a hint of red. I've been looking for a plain dark brown suit for years; now I have it.

(I reconfigured the hanky to a four-point shortly after the above snap.)

For those curious about the stair shot: it's a favourite location of mine, on the ground floor of the building where my alterations tailor is located in Sydney's CBD. As it so happens, about two blocks away from the Lindt Chocolat Café where some kind of Islamist hostage siege is unfolding today.

    Thanks Pliny. I'm fine.

Nice shoes. They look like spectators in leather and suede. Nice last shape too. Deets?

thanks, they're Vass U-last, single sole, tobacco suede and antic cognac. I got lucky with these. Promotional samples from Vass' foray into the US market.
