First of all, thanks for the detailed feedback, and for the kind words.

-I agree, the trousers and tie are both dressier than the jacket. The trou are worsted flannel, but they're not flecked or mottled the way a lot of flannels are, so they do read more formally. I couldn't come up with a square that was perfect for this (I think a blue-y purple-y wool square could have been great, but I don't own one of those), so I just wore one I liked.

    - I don't like striped BD shirts in anything other than oxford cloth, so I hear you on that part. I typically wear this one more casually (no tie), but I gave it a shot here. Sort of a "rugged Ivy" thing, in my head.

    - The university stripe/corduroy issue is one I have decided doesn't bother me, but it took me a while to arrive at that conclusion. I think the effect is more pronounced in pictures than in real life, where corduroy reads as less of a stripe. But I do tend to tread fairly lightly on that front.

    - I've tried this coat with forest green and mid-blue moleskins, but olive flannels and some kind of mottled, tweedy mid blue would be awesome with it. Thanks for that suggestion.

    - I hear you on this. I picked the shoes because of the color moreso than the style -- my only pair of LWB are kinda close in color to the coat, and I wasn't feeling that. I want a pair of burg shell LWB, but that's probably gonna be a ways off.

    Thanks again!

Very kind of you. I have a few horse blankets and just added this to the mix.

Most excellent. The jacket does look particularly good. Nice that you have a local place to do that.

I think you nailed it, Anden. I think a dark blue, green, burgundy/wine and probably brown (maybe lightly flecked with some color?) would also work, but those are probably good answers for almost any kind of coat.

Agree with @kulata on the preference for more robust footwear as well given the rustic nature of the jacket.

Probably my camera lens. I always resize them when i am not cropping but it still comes out wide.

Dude, did you buy that from me on ebay? I sold one nearly identical from Paul Stuart/Canada that was gorgeous, just a bit too big for me. Either way looks great. Here is my today. [IMG][IMG]

Hope it was clear that for me "horse blanket" is a term of affection for loud-patterned sport coats. I love that jacket.
