Four patterns and tweed.
Same ol' charcoal suit I always wear so no need for the full shot (and no light when I get home for it), but the rest... too busy, or otherwise? Shirt lines are mid-purple/lavender for reference.
Scale seems so similar, but I personally don't mind it.
This one's another Fresco- the 512- but with a slightly stronger shoulder (for me).
Hi guise- new suit office action shot
Pliny, are your shoes brown or black?
Looks black to me. Awesome soot, Pliny.
Looks like a deep brown/burgundy shell cordovan to me.
Are they shell?
yes. No more Oxfords in shell for me tho- IMO inherently a casual leather, it 'beef rolls' on the vamp. better with PTB's and in shades of red-brown. I still like these, just don't wear black shoes unless i want a really formal look. .
Any shoes but black shoes would be wrong there. Hence, knowing Pliny, they had to be black.
Interesting. I have only one pair of shell shoes (PTBs), and they've made me think that the "beef rolls" would be minimized on a captoe or wingtip. With the plain toe, the roll is really the only feature, so it catches my eye.
i guess it's a matter of taste- to someone who likes the roll I'd say go PTB or Norweger . A brogued longwing or captoe will minimize it but IMO the quirky roll is the reason to go cordo in the first place. Box calf carries a better shine and I think the cordo glow is overrated a little- I mean, it's different but not better than box. I know it's supposed to b more water repellent, but i just wouldn't want my shoes to get that wet whatever they're made of.
