Ironically, given that this is for the challenge, the thing that I think works least well here is the flower. I would have chosen a different colour or something not quite as large...

It comes off like you've arrived at home after a long day at the office, ditched the jacket, and slipped into a cardi to ward off the chill. You're a student, right? If so, you can get away with this. I'd leave the cardi unbuttoned, though.
