What are everyone's thoughts about tucking a sweater/jumper into one's trousers when worn under a jacket (as in AAS's photo)? For a thin, almost shirt-like rollneck sweater, I can definitely see that it works. But for thicker sweaters that are meant to be worn over a shirt (rather than in lieu of a shirt), it sometimes looks rather odd to me.
That's a nice looking suit. Would you mind sharing the fabric?
Looks bad. Reminds me of fighters in the Spanish Civil War or the French Resistance:What are everyone's thoughts about tucking a sweater/jumper into one's trousers when worn under a jacket (as in AAS's photo)? Yes of course, i suppose you mean Franquists and Nazis had a much cleaner look.Today at 5:21 AM
However virtuous their cause, they were mostly a sloppy lot.
For some reason, I retain a vast number of historical images,
and especially details of clothes, so whenever I see a example
like the sweater in the pants, I recall my initial impression, which
in this case, is not an upper class Englishman from the 30s who
also did this with "jumpers" but a poor guerrilla with a rifle.
I do both. With many more modern sweaters you almost have to tuck, fold, or roll because they are super long especially with higher waisted bottoms. I even have a longer torso and it is too much. More vintage regular size sweaters were at 24-25 inches in length and new versions are in the 27-29 range which is ridiculous. What are everyone's thoughts about tucking a sweater/jumper into one's trousers when worn under a jacket (as in AAS's photo)? Really like the brown sport coat, is it this one?A couple of outfits I wore at Pitti Uomo. Despite the exuberance of the fair and the week as a whole, I was keen to remain on-brand, as it were.
