Yesterday's news today. My husband and I were invited to spend Thanksgiving with a good friend, who hosted us at his place, and, at his suggestion, we dressed up for the occasion. After a day of casual dress due to inclement weather, below is what I donned to eat a Thanksgiving meal.

Suit - Oliver Brown
Shirt - Brooks Brothers MTM
Tie - Chipp
Cufflinks - Deakin & Francis, via Scully & Scully, NYC
Braces - Paul Stuart
Pocket square - Polo Ralph Lauren
Boots - J Fitzpatrick
Overcoat - Joseph Abboud
Scarf - Fortnum & Mason
Hat - Knole, a National Trust property

Lovely cloth on that suit

I'd been eyeing Donegal tweed suits for some time prior to purchasing the one I wore yesterday. The combination of fabric (it's a Moon fabric) the double-breasted waistcoat (like krytonite for me), and the fact that the suit both seemed to suit me and was on clearance sale pushed it over the line.

Nice outfit. Tally ho (ho ho) (If Santa should wear that). Your next assignment, look up kryptonite.

Visible Pick Stitching on Lapels and Pockets

  • It’s a mark of quality and craftsmanship

  • I like it when it’s subtle

  • I don’t like visible stitching

  • Doesn’t matter to me
