I'm bemused by the hate for centre vents. I have a beautiful bespoke DB suit of my father's which features a centre vent. Great option for those of us with slightly sticky-outy bums.

Oh, but it's nothing like the very special kind of hate reserved for ventless jackets. Absolutely mystifying.

Hello, I am entering the Friday challenge. The three articles of vintage clothing I am wearing (although difficult to see) are my silver collar bar from the 1930's. My silver cufflinks from the Edwardian Era, (which I hope to post pictures of in the near future), and my Irish linen pocket square which is possibly also from the 30's. I designed the fedora for myself, which is a model from my hat company. I recently received this suit from a very gracious Style Forum member presiding in the fine city of Hong Kong.

Not so much 'hate' for centre vents from me Coxie, just surprise to see one on a DB, although judging by the other responses maybe they aren't as rare as I'd thought. I'll keep my eyes peeled for further examples in the real world.

@ Anden I really like your 'low contrast' pic, (and the navy on navy from the other day too) - you have a good habit of putting together well fitting items that aren't screaming for attention but make for a very cohesive fit.

That is a very nice fit except this swedish military jacket. I had never understood, why the people in the german Stilmagazin make such a hype about this jacket. In my opinion it´s completely useless in the classic men´s wardrobe.

Are these authentic Swedish military jackets or a remake? I would like some more info on this.

Continuing the march of three-piece suits for me for this week. Yesterday evening's entertainments (a members' viewing at the Museum of Modern Art) was skipped, due to a combination of fatigue, cold, and light snow. This evening, I am due to attend a members' preview for the re-opening of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, an event to which I am more resolute in attending. The invitation said "festive dress" - I believe what I'm wearing might qualify.

    Suit - Paul Stuart
    Shirt - Hilditch & Key
    Tie - Charvet
Cufflinks - Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
    Braces - BB
    PS - Robert Talbott
    Vintage watch chain
Shoes - Harris, via Barney's NYC
    Overcoat - BB
Scarf - Fortnum & Mason, London
Hat - Selentino, via JJ Hat Center, NYC

1,5 -2 years ago a ebay vendor offered many of this jackets. I think it´s authentic from the 70s and maybe the swedish military get a new model and sold the old stock. It seems the jackets were stored for a longer time, because many users of the Stilmagazin reported, that the jacket had a musty smell and how to wash the jacket to eleminate that smell.

I like that jacket, Braddock, just not with a suit and tie.

I like braddocks jacket and the contrast it provides for the suit.

It almost treats the suit as just any other article of clothing, which is pretty awesome.
