Had quick 36-hour trip to NYC this weekend. I was in Manhattan (mostly Midtown) the entire time...really disappointed not to get a rare glimpse of the elusive @upr_crust or @An Acute Style in the flesh. Oh well, maybe next time...

Had the pleasure myself of meeting these sterling chaps during a visit earlier this year. You have to put the word out on here rather than trust to chance.

@NakedYoga - take @Thin White Duke 's advice - a little advance warning, and finding the local natives can be much easier than wandering midtown with high-powered binoculars, looking for the sartorially obsessed - just sayin' . . . ;)

Wait... with you knowing I was looking around with binoculars, now it sounds like you were avoiding me all along!

In reality, it was such a quick trip related to my wife's employer we had almost no free unallocated time to do anything, other than my wife demanding to check out the Harry Potter store on Broadway and 22nd.

There is the functional aspect, though...
As a frequent collar popper attempter, I understand the allure. Depending on the jacket, the collar falls down and has to be repopped often and/or even when popped the collar does not provide adequate protection. Add on the aesthetics issue and a good scarf is usually a better option in most cases. YMMV.

A bizarre looking Christmas Tree and me at Neiman Marcus. It said "Wish" and there was yellow button to push.

I pushed the yellow button and wished it was 1955 again so I could see all my family for Christmas again.

Happy Monday. If red and green are too bold for you, I think burgundy and dark green are a nice substitute. Camel hair jacket, green flannel trousers, cotton patchwork tartan tie, and flannel fun shirt. I really like this shirt and tie pairing. Just the right amount of crazy.
