Wholeheartedly agree. Still, it could have been worse, so I'm thankful.

Yeah, we're still in it. Shit happens. We did indeed feel violated, but at some point, you just have to move past it.

Thanks. They're actually my beaters. I really need a better pair of beaters. I don't mind messing these up, but they have leather soles and the uppers aren't waterproof.

Also, I agree about the khaki jacket being a bit too casual for the pants I wore back on Tuesday. I wish I had a pair of grey cotton chinos. I think those would have worked well.

Stowa? Had to look it up. I know as much about watches as I do about colostomy bags. [IMG]

Today, inspired by a recently posted pic of the Prince of Wales for the square (thanks @PCK1 )

Very nice, @TweedyProf . This could be shown to beginners as a fine example of how to do contrasting patterns.

I've just got my lovely unstructured camel-coloured Ring Jacket back from the tailors (sleeves, as always, are a problem for the shorter guy...). So inspired by @Cleav 's FC, I decided to do an entirely brown and blue fit, but which also breaks some SF 'rules' ('northern lights' in particular). I don't know if this will be my entry yet though - I might keep up the theme all week! The richness of the camel colour just doesn't seem to come through in any of the photos, but it's best in the second one and anyway, you'll get the general idea. Other deets: blue CT shirt; anonymous Italian dark blue silk knit tie; vintage paisley square (from my recent visit to Bobby from Boston); dark brown PRL custom-fit chinos; Uniqlo (yes!) woven leather belt; and (unseen) Stemar chestnut v-tips.

    Cheers FM:

I'm curious about Ring Jackets having seen them on Tumblr for a while now. The things that jump out at me from your jacket are the high gorge and narrower lapel than I would have thought, though I suspect that's still 3.25 inches at least. The shoulders seem nice and natural (not built up). Your thoughts? Fully canvassed?

Some perceptive comments, which are most welcome. I'm finding it very hard to tell about the canvassing - if it is canvassed, it's a very light canvas - which is quite likely given that this is one from their mainline range (not 'Silver' or other lines). The fabric and construction is lovely and the shoulders are completely unpadded, with just a tiny bit built up at the seam of the shoulder and sleeve. You'll have seen from previous fits that in suits I usually like a bit more of a British shoulder, but not so with odd jackets. I'll go the whole range from none (as in this one) to quite military padding depending on the type of jacket and fabric. The gorge is high, yes, and I guess that follows the generally Italian inspiration that seems to guide Ring Jacket. I'd say you right about the lapels, and 3" - 3.25" works fine for a smaller guy like me, but you do need to take account of this in the choice of tie - hence mine is a narrower knit today.

Giving this jacket another day in the sun, with a more fitted pair of trousers. Really digging these char-browns from Carson St.

Thanks for those thoughts. I like the overall shape on you, and unbuttoned, it has a nice curve/line, noticeable without being overly dramatic (second pic from the bottom).
