Insofar as yesterday's suit is concerned, I happened to visit my alterations tailor yesterday, and he noted the amount of handwork done on the suit, but did want to make the smallest of tweaks to the jacket (there is a small problem with the left shoulder, and he wants to adjust the collar a little, and give me room in the back for my wallet - about 1 cm/ 1/2 inch worth), and he did want to taper and shorten the trousers a bit (a change with which I fully agree). I spoke also briefly with my salesman at JAB, and he indicated that management there will not tell the help who makes the Platinum line for them, but speculation is that it's either Zegna or Canali, and the suit is clearly labelled "Made in Italy".

    Something less controversial for today.

    Suit - BB
    Shirt - Lewin
    Tie - Andrew's Ties
    PS - Ashear
Cufflinks - The London Badge & Button Co.
    Shoes - Harris, via Barney's

@upr_crust your recent ensembles -- that lean more to the brown side -- are very flattering to you. Still CBD'ish -- but not so stark. Personally, I hope you post more of these new looks. [IMG]

^^ I have made this observation before. Earth colours definitely look good on you, a little touch of country gent. Get your tweediness rocking, Crusty!

If true fall weather would ever reach NYC, I could start to drag out the tweeds and flannels. Have a chat with the weatherman, and I see if I can't accommodate you :satisfied: .

Colour and texture are not just for Autumn. But I think you're already heading more in that direction in the last couple of years I've been here. You are definitely a leading light.

@upr_crust , just post the tag of the suit... We'll be able to identify the maker.

Higher contrast to skin color or to pants? The pants are navy here.

And yeah, I was having issues with pictures :/ The jacket is khaki.

    Thanks for the feedback :)

Got to love patterns that look different at different distances like this. Visual variation of this kind is really nice.

Form 80° to 50°. From linen to tweed. Such is the way of life in the Chi.
