The weather in NYC is sunny but cold, though not as fiercely cold as last Friday. I am to be spending my afternoon having lunch with a friend, then an afternoon visit to the Met Museum, such that the extra layer of a waistcoat would be welcome insulation, but not too much for wandering museum galleries. Today's shoes are something from the archives - haven't worn them in a long while, but they're comfortable enough for an afternoon full of walking, but still apropos of today's suit.

Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Waistcoat - Ede & Ravenscroft, London
Shirt - Brooks Brothers
Tie - Zegna
Braces - Albert Thurston
Cufflinks - Victoria & Albert Museum, London
Pocket square - vintage J. Press
Shoes - Bergdorf Goodman house brand
Overcoat - Joseph Abboud
Scarf - Hickey Freeman
Cap - Paul Stuart

Yup - cool as always DC.
I wonder if you ever wore flat fronts?
My strides are 99percent flat fronts and that was the case for most strides until the last couple of years so when I see them now I wonder if the wearer was a die-hard pleated for the last couple of decades or a recent convert!

Oh yes! I only started wearing pleats about 3 years ago. Before that everything was flat fronts with a mid rise. When I discovered the comfort of high rise and pleats, there was no going back! I do still have a couple of flat front dress trousers in a fuller cut with a mid/high rise.

This brown suit with that tan waistcoat gets me every time. What a great combo.
