Thanks for the likes, folks. It's very interesting: I didn't think today's look was particularly special - although it does illustrate some things I've been banging on about recently, namely the advantages of high waisted trousers, pleats and braces - but mainly what's changed is just the angle I've taken the pictures at, which takes a little better advantage of the light in my office and gives you a fuller picture, or at least one that people seem to appreciate more... now, if only I could find an easy way of taking shoe shots as well (it's just a matter of getting my phone to communicate with my university's mail system, but that seems to be unreasonably difficult...).

I was really digging the high waist and pleats.

So the answer is, yes, I'm a little crazy. Without getting in specifics, I come from a very different tradition than most people in CM, and a lot what I do outside of Styleforum is experiment with textiles. I don't think that pin dots on a knit fabric is that insane.

Personally, I am not interested in having something boring be the official tie of Styleforum. That said, I don't see why we can't do something that is both interesting and versatile at the same time. I think that it really comes down to sourcing the right fabric.

Styleforum is a pretty unique place. It has a big tent feel that is unique among the different menswear communities, and there is a lot of depth here. And it's seen a lot of change in both menswear and in technolog, through I feel that we deserve a tie that reflects that. Let me talk to @Henry Carter and we'll see what we can come up with.

    Don't be so sure.

I think that we can do all of that. This would be the first time that Styleforum will have worked officially with a maker to produce a tie that characterizes Styleforum, and if it is going to be given out as prizes, we are going to pull out all the stops on materials and make. I'm still waiting for @Henry Carter to contact me, but we won't be messing around.

We could very possibly do that. But I would also want to give them out as prizes, to people who are dubiously honored in some way throughout the year, etc...
Styleforum is a business, but we've always had fun doing it.

I think that would be really cool. Nice to have a tie that can be purchased but the idea of prizes is how this discussion got started in the first place.
