Very cool. I had a law school professor in the mid/late 2000's with a 1960-something cherry red convertible Mercedes coupe. Similar to yours, but a shorter wheel base, I think. What a great looking car. I never got to take a ride in it, but it looked awesome. Are you the original owner?
No, I'm the second owner, I think.

The previous iteration of the SL series is the W113 chassis, the so-called Pagoda model, SL280, -230, and -180 (I think. I'm no expert). W113 models in good shape are routinely more than $100K. It's quite a bit smaller and lighter than the R107.

I've not worn a jacket or tie since a week ago yesterday, but this evening, my husband and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary, for which we got dressed up, for a dinner at the Leopard at des Artistes, formerly the Cafe Des Artistes, a venerable institution on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Much deliciousness ensued . . .

Suit - Paul Stuart
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Tie - Charvet
Cufflinks - Deakin & Francis, via Scully & Scully, NYC
Braces - Albert Thurston, via Paul Stuart
Pocket square - Polo Ralph Lauren
Shoes - Harris, via Barney's, NYC (defunct, alas)
Featured desserts were a chocolate mousse, and a delice de limoncello . . .

Eventhough I'm hesitant to go after the constantly elegant @1st Step I'll give it a go. Another Monday, another suit.

The weather has cooled and cleared a bit, in anticipation of autumn (one can only hope), and my day, which was supposed to be taken up with dental work (I am in the process of my third root canal in the last 18 months - not a pleasant concept from several different angles) was postponed by a day at the request of my dentist. Making sartorial hay while the sun is shining (but not too hotly), I've dressed for the afternoon.

I've worn today's tie with today's suit before, and found it a pleasing combination, and a friend recently posted photos of himself in blue shoes with a grey suit, so, monkey see, monkey do. As it is, the taper on the trouser legs of this suit is so aggressive I've only worn low-cut loafers with this suit previously, but proper lace-up shoes seem to work adequately well as well.

Suit - Paul Stuart/Phineas Cole
Shirt - Brooks Brothers
Tie & braces - New & Lingwood
Cufflinks - DVVS, NYC (now defunct)
Pocket square - no name brand
Shoes - Magnanni for Bergdorf Goodman

Almost tie brothers with @DonRaphael today, though mine is not a Drake's. Felt like a good day for double breasted! Blazer is once again by SuitSupply. And yes, I do realise I need to get better pants:sarcasm:

For the future: should I post the picture without the head, or covered by some image? (Maybe it distracts too much from the clothing)

For the future, I'd rather see a picture with no head but with shoes, than to see a smiley without shoes.

Got my flannel suit back from the tailor shop and wore it to work today. I think my tailor did a good job I like the look @upr_crust had with his charcoal suit and striped shirt so I thought I’d play with that combo a bit
Suit: Paul Stuart
Shirt CT
Shoes; Johnston and Murphy
Suspenders and cufflinks: umm men’s shop
