Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones and all.. but IMHO I think a pair of black shoes (with grey socks) would have been better for this ensemble. Or, swinging to the other extreme, a richer shade of brown (burgundy, oxblood?) in calf. Or dark suede.

Just my 2 cents. Otherwise, love the look.

Thanks. i agree black would've worked. Went with dk brown because I'm wearing an SC & the SC has a brown overcheck (hard to see in the pic I know). And the shirt is blue despite the pic too.

^with all the above taken in to consideration, would a navy knit not have been a better choice than black then?

Ah, I stand corrected. I thought the shirt was white.

It would- not that it would show in this pic. I'm flaunting the no black tie with brown shoes, or is it no brown tie with black shoes convention?

It is supposed to rain heavily today, though it is not doing so as of yet here in NYC. I am dressed defensively - older shoes and a vintage tie.

    Nice fits all! [IMG]

Been a while. Thematically blue on top: blazer, fine blue pencil stripe, blue in shantung, blue in square. Feeling a bit blue too! Not seen: light gray hopsack trews with British tan oxfords.
