I get wearing a tartan jacket more formally -- basically a notch below a navy blazer. But I'm not sure about the geometry of Gmmcl's collar and lapel, and I think it might be better "softened" with a blue shirt and shoes with a less aggressive last, or in a shade of brown.

Thanks for the thumbs on my last fit, everyone. I'd love some feedback on my square and tie today.

Are the collar details in the spreadsheet on the Luxire thread?

They are not. I arrived at the shape by trial and error, and now just refer to my previous order (6858) for new shirts.

    looking good. enjoy.

hacking pockets w ticket pocket should be avoided on a suit like that. Same goes for light shoe(lace)s.

Always nice to see everyone's pictures and to notice that for some of you, Fall has fallen and you are starting to wear your Fall things, but it's still nearly 90 here.

Brooks Brothers blazer and shirt, Ben Silver tie, Orvis trousers, Gold Toe socks, and Allen Edmonds shoes......

Crusty, you need to put that suit into your rotation more often - looks great!

Y U NO BUY IT THEN?

Been up on my ebay pages for months. Honestly, I was about to pull it down for the season so I could wear it with a clean conscience when it sold.

:spam: I have plenty more where that came from. Check it out. And don't be afraid to come at me with offers. I will do the best I can. :spam:

I appreciate the feedback. I suspected I'd get grief for the shirt. I can live with that.
I don't subscribe to the bolded philosophy, though, because if you take it to its logical conclusion, it basically precludes everything but a pale blue shirt, solid blue/gray suit and burgundy tie (because, as to each, there is no "better" option). Even if you don't go that far, it means that you always play it safe.
Personally, I prefer variety -- including, by the way, variations of what I just called "safe" fits. But always in moderation and punctuated with fun.
    YMMV, etc etc.

I can think of many better options which aren't the uniform you describe.
