That ring is great too! Does it have any particular significance?
The ring has no particular significance. I had the setting made in 1985, and it originally held a cabochon of malachite (a green striated stone), which broke after being dropped on the bathroom floor once too often. It was replaced with a cabochon of lapis lazuli, one rather larger than the current one, which lasted some 30 years, but with time, it also fractured, and was replaced by the current stone. Other than that, it has no organizational affiliations, or anything like that.

I love malachite! On museum visits I would always look for it in geology exhibits because it is such a beautiful color. It's amazing that the ring has been through so much with you. In the end that's probably the best that we can ask for of our possessions.

The J. Peterman catalog had a great sentiment in one of their catalogs recently: "People want things that are hard to find. Things that have romance, but a factual romance, about them." I think your ring likely has that.

Thank you for sharing!

Spring continues. I know these loud plaids are not everyone’s cup of tea, but I love them. @Roycru no yellow shirt today. Will yellow pants suffice?

I enjoyed Simon Crompton's article today on white denim and I have a lot of respect for his points of view. But he did reiterate several times that he tries to avoid looking "showy", which is a theme of his and is fair enough. I think this outfit would give Simon an aneurysm. I think it's awesome!

Thanks, Andy. As a resident of New York City, my threshold for showy may be higher than most. Simon should stay out of the city. :rotflmao:
