I liked it at the time, but looking back at it now I would lose the tie and wear a blue stripe OCBD instead.More importantly, how do you feel about it?

I'm no expert on black tie and that stuff but I'm digging this. The only thing I would change is the shoes, to some opera pumps. Or maybe a black velvet slippers. Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

And this is a great family portrait!
I'll echo Betelgeuse and say the shoes are the only standout. I think the blackwatch tie and suspenders are the perfect pieces to veer from the norm, while being a nice representation of your personality that adds visual interest. Well done. Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

Looks great. It's different without being ostentatious, and looks authentically "you". A knitted long necktie wouldn't hold a candle to the black watch bowtie in this setup. Looks great in the family photo and would look great at a holiday party (pre-coronavirus of course). Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

Not bad for OTR. Jacket needs a good pressing and more wears to settle the canvas. Trousers are alright, albeit a little tight. What are your thoughts on the fit?
That look is "you" as it gets (as much as I can say from having been here a couple of months). I do agree that black velvet slippers would have been the final touch, but it's a very minor point. Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

I think that the black tassel loafers look really cool in this setup. Only thing I would do to improve the look is to get a slightly larger bow tie when you finally decide buy a solid black one.Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

Cummerbund? I think a standard black bow tie would be better, but this works. Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks. I definitely need better footwear for this. On the hunt. The last time I wore this the only black shoe I had was a bit loafer. These tassel loafers will have to do for now.I'm no expert on black tie and that stuff but I'm digging this. The only thing I would change is the shoes, to some opera pumps. Or maybe a black velvet slippers.
And this is a great family portrait!

Thanks. I actually tried on the knit tie with this. It looked terrible. The jacket has a low button stance and the pants are very high rise, well above my belly button. I kind of like the effect. I don't have to worry about the white shirt triangle below the button with these pants.Looks great. It's different without being ostentatious, and looks authentically "you". A knitted long necktie wouldn't hold a candle to the black watch bowtie in this setup. Looks great in the family photo and would look great at a holiday party (pre-coronavirus of course).
Edit: It does seem that something is making your torso appear slightly elongated. Maybe it's the jacket buttoning point?
Thanks. On the hunt for new shoes and a black bow tie. That look is "you" as it gets (as much as I can say from having been here a couple of months). I do agree that black velvet slippers would have been the final touch, but it's a very minor point.
Thanks. How large is large? Large in height or width? Most of the nice ones I've seen have been pre tied which I'm not a fan of.I think that the black tassel loafers look really cool in this setup. Only thing I would do to improve the look is to get a slightly larger bow tie when you finally decide buy a solid black one.
Yep. I own a black watch cummerbund. Who would have guessed? The bow tie, suspenders, and cummerbund are all from Brooks Brothers, but thrifted separately. The silks are not a perfect match, but pretty close. I agree that a solid black bow would be better. I'm looking for one now.Cummerbund? I think a standard black bow tie would be better, but this works.
As a dad, I'm fine with the loafers as a show of solidarity with the little man's boat shoes. Your kid's comfort and confidence is always paramount to your own fit. Great parenting in this photo shoot. Are you happy? Any advice is appreciated.
