I never said that anyone shouldn't be able to critique or give negative feedback, I just said that I vehemently disagree with it in this case.

That is why I always use the words in my opinion or I think. I never stated anything objectively.

As to whether or not there is any point in leaving one button unbuttoned over another, I don't think there is, I just think that someone having a little bit of fun, and I personally see nothing wrong with that.

Tomorrow's the first day of classes. I'm still nervous after all these years. I met my new freshman homeroom today so I figured I'd tie one on and keep it simple.

The original criticism was at least well-observed, small and precise. It might have merited disagreement in its specifics but it didn't need a 'rant' in response (IMHO of course...).

I should have been more clear. The original critique was very clear, and I understand that viewpoint, despite how much I disagree with it.

When I said, "Yay, rant time!" I really just meant a personal rant, not meant to be railing on the OP, just using it as an excuse to rant on something I feel strongly about.

Doh! You'd think we'd be able to faithfully reproduce color by now [IMG]
The fit looked well put together, as ever.

That tie is a Kamakura. Twas a disappointment - narrow, thin, flimsy, lifeless and like many cheap ties it's made in those unnatural saturated colors. I expected better after the shirts, which are stellar if u can get your size rite. One of my Kamakuras is in a cotton that is just stunning. Irons like linen.

...but you just got married and Cleav has a lovely wife. Why do you feel the need to thumb up for sex?

I'm very disappointed to hear that, I had great hope for Kamakura ties..

Some of the Kamakura ties are excellent. I only have one, but I am very happy with it, and aportnoy posted a number of fits with Kamakura ties which he said he was very pleased with.

    Bummer about yours, Pliny.

One of the things I love about this thread is seeing a glimpse in the background of a different part of the world.

English countryside, a street in Finland or Berlin or New York or Vienna, a back yard in Yorkshire. Fantastic.

Dunno, I just saw the word "sex" and my thumb went up all by itself.
