Alright, well, I didn’t feel like getting someone to take a picture of me yesterday; so instead, I called in a runway model to throw on my look so that I could take pictures of it on her.

Still counts, right?

Playing separates today. Also, OCBD shirt with a tie - a rather rare pairing for me. I think on this shirt it works ok, the collar is long enough (and not too big IMHO), has a nice roll and enough space to accommodate the knot. I'd love to hear your opinion though :)

I disagree on some of those points. The collar does not have a nice roll. The collar is overlapping creating a negative tie space. This is a sign that that the collar is too big for you. The spread of the collar points could be wider. It would look nicer if the collar points were closer to your jacket lapels. The point length looks fine. The tie knot looks very large compared to the collar points though. I would recommend a smaller knot if possible.

History repeats itself, in several ways. This evening, I am again to attend a museum function, this time the members' viewing of the current exhibit at the Costume Institute at the Met, the theme of which is "Camp" i.e. fanciful exaggeration. Meteorologically, it is also a repeat of the weather from May 29th, my previous museum outing, the Frick Spring Garden Party - a day promising to be full of rain. Therefore, I have repeated, more or less, my attire from the 29th, as a cream-colored three-piece linen suit is, for day wear, an exaggerated eyeful, unless one is selling fried chicken, or is the dictator of a country in a tropical climate, fulfilling both the thematic element of this evening's exhibit, and also getting another wearing out of an ensemble that would otherwise be fast on its way to the dry cleaner's.

Suit - Brooks Brothers
Shirt - Lewin
Tie - Charvet
Cufflinks - Corcione, Naples, Italy
Pocket square - no name brand, a gift from a good friend
Vintage watch chain
Shoes - Paul Stuart
Hat - Scala

A thoroughly miserable day here in SE England. No chance of wearing a cream-coloured suit - if I had one! Instead, I tried to capture a little of summer in the Shibumi tie and Geo. F. Trumper square. My vintage Driway coat kept me dry...
