In the early 20th century men’s jackets sometimes had buttons on the “wrong” side of the jacket. It was fairly common, especially among immigrants. However, in this time, when the side that buttons go on is very standardized, I would be worried about going to a tailor who accidentally put them in the wrong place. It bespeaks... incompetence.

Is it me or the sleeves of your Barbour are too short?
It was more striking on the first picture you posted though (your avatar now)...

When only the best incompetence will do, go bespoke.

I may accept that. However, guys that know me for posting here before, know that I’m not a bit of a conservative as long as we talk about what we wear. I use to dare and to be bold, not following rules. You will see me wearing white trousers in winter or loafers with suits. Not a problem to me. I also like to mix textures: squares with stripes and dots, something like that.
Besides, I’m not very close to white shirts. Don’t use much. Grenadine tie could be right. The suit has very thin (not very visual) red stripes.
    Thanks for the comment!

To me, this tie and pocket square combination is not a go. The tie and PS should complement each other but should never be a perfect match, which is what we have here.

And not just the color, they have very similar patterns as well. The PS looks more like a folded tie than it does a PS. Try pairing your tie's main color to the second or third color of the square instead.

Lastly, this type of fold doesn't look good with a multicolored PS like you're wearing. Just grab it in the center, nonchalantly fold it on itself and stuff it in your pocket. I'm sorry for the long post but tie and PS combo is one of my pet peeves. Cheers!

Encountered an abandoned stuffed panda while walking to the Westwood/Rancho Park Los Angeles Metro Expo Line station this morning.

I really like your wife's boots. Even nicer than your loafers (nice though they are).

Oh, yes, I did! (Despite Alan Bee's admonitions to the contrary . . .) ;)

Thank you, Thrift Vader, but one (or at least I) only unfastens the upper buckle - the lower stays buckled, after any adjustment for comfort.

    I am nothing if not subtle - until I'm not . . .
