Agreed on the trousers, I like the look and silhouette it gives. It's the sleeves that I think need shortening. I am interested also to see what @An Acute Style details on the textures being at odds.
@gavrarabba

One thing to note if you’re considering this fabric for a coat.

Basket-weaves tend to bag (or expand). I have noted that with this coat and another one made of similar cloth. And so it is possible the sleeve length has “helped itself” out over time.

They are the diametric opposite of linen in that sense. My linen jackets have tended to “shrink” a little in sleeve length over time even when washed before cutting. So my tailor cuts the linen jackets a bit longer than others coats to account for the shrinkage.

Hard to make the same adjustment for basket waves cos the sleeve will come out too short off the gate.

I was warned by my tailor when I picked the cloth but I couldn’t resist the lure of the texture.

The jacket is dark, but covered in white spots (freckles) and white streaks going both horizontally and vertically. There is a lot going on visually in this texture. The pants have a similar smaller spottiness, but in a different colorway: brown, yellow, green. I think the textures are too similar as it is. The streaks make things even busier IMO. Again, lovely garments. Still worthy of thumbs.

Too much brown.

I feel like since @Alan Bee was so critical of another members preference on shoulders he's caused a lot more criticism on his own outfits as of late, haha.
