Is it possible for a tailor to narrow them?

The suit is great otherwise.
Narrowing those lapels would be like coloring in the spaces on a Rembrandt etching. They are a perfect expression of the Tommy Nutter era, and the suit looks great.

Gents. Just back from a cruise around Scandinavia and Baltic Europe.

The cruise line, like others I expect, is not the formal experience that it once was.

We had just two ‘formal’ evenings in twelve, when the suggested dress was suits and ties for the gentlemen or black tie.

I wore black tie on both formal nights, varying my Berwin & Berwin suit with a change of shirt, bow, cufflinks, pocket square and socks.

Here are a few pictures of my two black tie efforts.

First evening:

First post in this thread. Not sure if the casual one would have made more sense, but there is a tie...

My guess is that the button stance is too high, and perhaps, the tie pattern is too close in scale to the shirt. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Well that tie with that jacket can work but requires a different shirt to pop better. somehow all of the patterns are kinda ethereal but with interesting texture, find a shirt that ephasizes the tie and jacket texture more while brightening the ensemble... the thicker shirt stripes arent doing anything here but it might just be the colors.

Thanks Backhand. I'll try a different shirt if I go for something similar again.

I had hoped to be wearing new swag from Paul Stuart's today, but the alterations department was late with the sports jacket I had hoped to wear. Instead, I am wearing an indulgence from Stuart's but from a year or two back. I hope that it shall be sufficient for my needs today.

Sports jacket - Paul Stuart
Shirt - Tyrwhitt
Tie & trousers - Brooks Brothers
Cufflinks - Thomas Pink
Pocket square - Harvie & Hudson, London
Shoes - Carmina, via the Armoury, NYC
Hat - Peter Grimm

I aspire to wear purple openly and successfully one day. I have some hidden in today's fit.
White shirt, new tie, same old suit.
Feedback is appreciated as always; I'm trying to grow and experiment slowly. I think a blue shirt is pretty much always better for me, but I want to work in white shirts for variety.

Love the colour and you can pull it off. Also like how you match ring and tie. I actually wore purple pants today but slowly realised that I look like The Joker...

And now for something completely different. This is my brand-new jacket made for me by Edward Sexton from London Lounge 100% cashmere. Unstructured Italian tailoring this is not.

Jacket and trousers by Edward Sexton, shirt by Marol from Permanent Style oxford cloth, shoes by Edward Green, and hat by Bates.

Thank you, Andy. The same could be said for your latest jacket - a bold statement if there ever were one. You rock, you rule.
