Evening getup and sophomore effort from Olof1982. Generally pleased, and a clear improvement from the first effort, but there are still some fit issues. The biggest problem is the sleeve pitch, which is still not quite right. It also came fully lined, when I wanted half lined. The cotton is quite thick and stiff so the added layer makes it considerably less breathable. Not ideal for a warm summer day. The trousers are great. My wife said they make me look like an old man, which I choose to take as a compliment.

Any insight as to whether the hip pocket placement can be adjusted? Those are (or at least appear to be from the angle) extremely high.

I hadn't really noticed, but they do look a little high. I think the problem is the buttons are too close together.

I am sure that could be adjusted but you'd probably have to give specific instructions to do so.

I really like the length of the jacket. So many open quarter jackets look really short to me.

Thank you kindly. I am not a fan of short jackets either. The only problem with open quarters is that they can result in an overly flared skirt. Hopefully my tailor can fix that.

Looks good on the whole, but the pocket and button positions look as though you have asked for the button stance to be lowered and and the jacket lengthened, but that not every aspect of the jacket has changed as a consequence in the appropriate way. So you are left with pockets that look higher and buttons that look closer than they should be.

I would also suggest that a lower gorge would be preferable. Together with the long jacket and unstructured shoulders, you are left in need of more impression of breadth across the chest (which a lower gorge, and marginally slimmer lapels, would provide).

Correct on all counts. The gorge issue is the most vexing. High gorges are popular with many makers at the moment and few have the option to lower it. I always ask and the answer is always in the negative. I also asked for a more padded shoulder along the lines of the SuitSupply Washintgon, and this is what I got. Still chasing that perfect fit.
