^^ I like the combo!
Warming up before a gala charity ball at the Music Pavilion, Pavlovsk Palace, outside Saint-Petersburg.
Keen observers will note certain items of Australiana in the photo - I was touring with a Melbourne-based orchestra.
Please forgive me for the slightly nasty travel shoes.

DC, your love of the spread collar is unrequited.
Great! What music was on the program?
Program for the gala ball was light-hearted and geared to dancing -
Rimsky-Korsakov - Capriccio Espagnol
Shostakovich - Waltz no 2 from Jazz Suite
Johann Strauss - Tales from the Vienna Woods
The previous night at the Capella, we were a bit more serious, adding Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Dvorak's Symphony no 9 to the Rimsky-Korsakov.
Boy, that's a big fiddle.
Stripes and stripes and stripes.

Don't look now, but there's a well dressed man lurking in the bushes.
