Glad you and Stitchie cleared things up. :)

Back to today's post, it goes to show you how far along I have come. It is a suit that I purchased prior to joining SF. Back then I thought it was all about the labels. Wish the mistake was not so costly but it is water under the bridge.

... and now you've learned it's all about the lapels. [IMG]

Thanks. I was in a funny mood this morning, so I decided to dress ridiculously. I do hope I don't come across as defensive -- I only want to explain that, yes, there are ways in which this is indefensible.

I like navy, but I don't really dress for business most of the time. I wear navy blazers a lot, and don't think they look too bad on me. In the cooler weather, I am in gray, brown, or olive tweeds more than anything else. In general, I look a little better in lighter shades than this, which is where gray could come into its own.

I kind of like the knit with the gingham idea, but would only do it again in "normal" colors. This shirt is kind of experimental. I'm glad it was the cheaper of the two brightly-colored ginghams I looked at, because I'm finding out they're not really my thing. I would like a light blue houndstooth shirt in about the same scale as this, but that's a different beast.

The suit is cheap. I hadn't worn it for, like, a year, so I decided to break it out. Now I remember why I don't wear it.

I know better than to wear those shoes with that suit, but it was these, weejuns, or tan wingtips ("Sure, I can move my shoes up a week early. I'll be fine!"), and the other two risked looking like I didn't know any better, if that makes sense.

Hopefully, I'll be posting more regularly in the fall, and I think you'll like a lot of what I put together better than you liked this -- the bar for that is probably rather low, of course.

^I'm not feeling the square choice, JHT, but everything else is very nice.

Thank You. I just got the square yesterday (Drakes's) so wanted to use it, in hindsight your right, probably not optimal.
