I don't know if you meant this in a sarcastic way. However, I think your tie looks perfectly fine. 1cm is pretty marginal.

Great houndstooth fabric!

I think your photos tell a different story. I look and think that a 13% increase in front blade width is meaningless. I think it does show the advantages of wearing a jacket. Tie and no jacket is not one of my favorite looks.
