X-post from the FC 'Corde du Roi'. If entries so far are any guide, it looks like being a great Challenge...

Really? I think this shirt is a great type of gingham.
I love gingham shirts. I think the tie is too busy for the shirt or vice versa. I also dislike that particular shade of blue for a gingham shirt. It's much too light.

Yeah, I prefer light gingham to dark. But generally the darker the shirt, the less I like it.

For all the five (or more) pattern fans out there.

P1100429 2.jpg

Brooks Brothers blue blazer, blue and white gingham PPBD shirt, striped tie, Paisley pocket square, and belt, Banana Republic grey glen plaid cotton/linen blend trousers, and grey suede Allen-Edmonds shoes. (It has cooled down to around 85F here today).

For those who obsess over the details.

Yes, maybe the tip of the tie is a little worn (used to wear this tie a lot in the late sixties and early seventies) but (to quote a well known American politician) "What difference does it make?"

Do the skull and cross bone socks make it six patterns?

I made the Emperor 2.0 which is my most Imperial looking fedora. It required me designing and having the blocks custom made in England in order to achieve a shape and stature with greater formality. No other hatter (logically so) would part with hat blocks like these from the 1920's or 30's. The reason being there is low surviving stock and are often highly desirable to a hatter aesthetically. The day was 92 Degrees so I wore my Unlined Fresco Wool Double Breasted Suit.

Congratulations on the new hat. Beautiful suit as always. Very well accessorized.

@Tibor, is that the hat you were wearing the day in Union Station (when I was getting a muffin) and some girl got so excited seeing your hat she took our picture (which you later found when she posted it online somewhere)?
