Yes, I jest of course. But this particular trip was, I gather, about pleasure rather than business. We do seem rather formally dressed, which was suitable in that environment, surrounded by MPs and other Government types.

Thank you for your kind comments, sir.

To answer the question of the purpose of our trip, my husband and I are traveling for pleasure, but one of those pleasures is doing things that require us to be dressed up. This evening, dinner will be at Helene Darroze at the Connaught. Lunch with Mr. Knightley was a great pleasure, both for the cuisine and for the company.

A complete report on swag acquired, with pictures will be posted shortly after my return to the US Saturday evening.

Nothing wrong at all with doing things that require you to be dressed up sir! As long as you and your husband had a good time, that is what matters. What is the point of traveling anyway if you do not enjoy it? Additionally, will be looking forward to that report sir!

Modern suit, but I made the outfit look vintage.

I know a lot of people are turned off by vintage suits/style, but if the styling is right, it looks fine. And hell, you don't always need a vintage suit to do it. Striped shirts + Patterned ties get it done; it helps if you have a vintage tie and a collar bar though.

Wrote a blog post on it if you guys are interested, but I mainly wrote it because of Dapper Day this weekend! I'm an invited speaker to talk about vintage/classic menswear and I'm hoping to dissuade people from wearing clip on suspenders + bowties and other less than desirable combinations.

I also happened to wear the outfit to the launch party of the Bloke, a new haberdashery in Pasadena.

Considering the recent Drake's event in NYC (and countless others at the Armoury, etc) makes me extremely sad that there are almost no classic menswear events in Los Angeles. maybe this store will help foster that!

@SprezzaTrash that fit is spectacular. I wish I could fit into Suit Supply like that. Can I ask where the shirt is from?

Thank you! Shirt was custom made by Natty Shirts. Quality is meh, but it was cheap (especially since I bundled). I'd recommend Luxire if you want the spearpoint! Haven't tried them recently but I'm sure others here can attest to it. Just be meticulous in measurements!

Love the whole ensemble! As a college student, I can't even put in writing how frustrating it is to see students on campus wear those clip-on type braces. I mean, to each their own, but I'm not gonna lie. Those really skinny clip-on braces just look weird to me.

I've worn this jacket successfully in the past, but never with a pink shirt. I'm not crazy about the tie here. Thoughts.

I like the combo, perhaps a different tie? Maybe in Brown or Green?
