    :D

My tumblr reflects stuff I like and there are tons of fits with suits and ginghams in there. I can't say I like it on some Italian dude and then not like it on SF.

    I like these a lot

If any of you guys think Greg doesn't look great in this SC and white linen shirt.....you should quit life.

Hard to argue with those, although in the first one the check is a little bit larger than I would like with a suit and tie, and the second fit has exploding spreez everywhere, but I'll be damned if I say those guys did not execute well.

All the same, that does not mean everyone who tries to incorporate a gingham check shirt with a jacket and tie will execute as well as those guys.

I have a white linen semi spread collar shirt and I love wearing it with my linen herringbone sport coat. It doesn't look like a formal shirt to me at all

But of course and that is why most of us need guidelines or caution to avoid train wrecks while trying to mimic what we see online.

Unfortunately you also make the guy to Greg's left more visible when you enlarge the photo

I really like this plum/wine color. Who makes the tie?
For some reason I pictured you ~30 and no facial hair/ black hair. You're getting close to a full reveal!
I like this tie as well! Who makes it? Also, you need better pictures please.
I think a different tie and this could be outstanding. I really like the collar on that shirt.
Too many beads on his wrist. It drives me crazy when I see that. Aside from that I agree with the shirts to a point. I think the size of the pattern makes or breaks them.

+1 on the pictures, they never do @justinkapur justice.

I believe not so long ago we had a similar discussion about gingham shirts. I think it has to do with scale and contrast: large scale ginghams can work with suit & tie if the contrast is low, higher contrast checks demand a smaller scale. Then they can even work in citified context like with a pinstripe suit, IMHO. Reposting an oldie as example:

For the FC, me at my me-iest. I'm wearing a jacket I made that's almost finished (I try to work on it whenever I have some spare time).

You absolutely can. But if you like it, you like it :)

Anyway, I'll wear gingham with suits occasionally. Just not pinstriped suits.

Thanks. The tie is from Lands End. I got a lot of three (brown, navy, and burgundy) on eBay for $30. I wore the navy one on Wednesday and I'm wearing the brown one today.
