I pretty much echo what EFV said.

I agree with ed that from what we can see his fit is spot on, but I think the reason that most replies were pretty luke warm towards them is threefold.

1. He had villainized himself. After his snarky comments (even though much of his actual critiques were correct, that got lost in the sarcasm/snark), he would need to be shaper than Vox to get any love from most. Which I think is fair.

2. He espoused simplicity leading to true elegance. I mean, his fits were certainly nice and looked very well fitting, but nothing staggering. I mean, I have seen simple understated fits that were stunning in their elegance, but his were not. They were, simply put, very nice conservative looks, not breathtakingly elegant.

3. The pics were pretty weak until SB fixed them.

For those reasons, I think he got a pretty luke warm response. Had he simply appeared and posted the pics he did, but larger and nicer, I bet he would have got more love.

More importantly, Murl and I just crushed it and that is what is really important this morning.

(these last couple of pages have been filled with talk about elegant simplicity. There had to be a Pingson picture at some point)

Last fit for awhile from me today; headed to the South, where jackets in July just ain't gonna happen. No PS because the jacket is hard enough to pair as it is, though I love its fit and texture (wool/silk).

These are the new pants right? I bet this fit looks much better IRL than what we can see here. You should try and take a picture outside, as natural light does wonders for pic quality. In these pictures the pants look almost black, even though I'm pretty sure they're more like chocolate (am I right?).

The new pants are being tailored; these are newish cotton chinos from BB that are almost the "anti" D'Avenzas (slim, low rise, flat front, no room in the thighs). You nailed the color, though, these are chocolate brown.

I definitely agree on the outdoor lighting being superior (despite the evidence from my fit pics, I used to be an avid amateur photographer), and have looked for a good location. The problem is that I don't have a back yard at home, and on campus, any place I can prop my iPhone ends up being backlit i.e. too bright behind me, and I'm entirely in shadow. I'll continue to scout for a winning location.

I've been wanting something in Fresco since April. Lucked out big time. Last one available was 54L and the measurements were spot on. End of season sale was the gravy on top. My tailor is backed up so I won't have it until near end of July....Hopefully Chicago won't have snow by then...
