1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

@benjamin831 Really like that outfit. Nice spring vibes with the colors. Is the tie grenadine? I would prefer slightly longer pants, but everything else is gorgeous.

Is it that bad not to have cuff's.. I know its a matter of personal preference but I wonder if the SF community generally (the majority) frown on no cuff's with pants..with my inseam (need about 42 inches total inseam wise to get a 2inch cuff) its hard to cuff every pant I purchase..

If I'm not mistaken, I think it's a pinstripe flannel, so I do think cuffs are appropriate here. Although I do see your point chocsosa

Did not mean it objectively. I just personally almost always prefer cuffs. Especially on a suit.

I don't have cuffs on any of my trousers, though I've been flirting with the idea of getting them re-hemmed for them. I tend toward clean hems for some reason, maybe just because my tailor never asked when I took them in to get hemmed.

Outside of whatever rules/conventions may exist regarding cuffs, something that someone like Manton could speak to a lot better than I, I think its pretty subjective material.

Andy, for example, looks at cuffed trouser pants and has an instant mental/emotional reaction that it looks bad. I can't say why he feels that way, will leave that to him.

On the other hand, when I see uncuffed dress trousers, most of the time, I have a mental/emotional reaction that it looks unfinished and juvenile and that it is casual in appearance in a manner that is incoherent with the formality of dress pants being worn with a jacket and especially when you throw in a tie.

Hence, when cuffless dress trousers are worn in a more casual manner, such as with chunkier casual shoes or boots, coupled with a sweater or just a shirt, or depending on the overall vibe, with just a SC, it bothers me much less.

No, please don't bring tuxedos as a proof, thats a totally different beast with an entirely different guidebook of standard and appropriate finishing.

Horses for courses is what Im sayin.

Thanks. I wasn't really shooting for 'fashion forward' but I'll take the compliment. Like most posters here, I prefer classic proportions. Unfortunately, jackets which fit me well in the shoulder are usually too short and the button stance too high. Trousers which fit well in the waist are usually too tight in the thigh.

My more recent purchases have been in 50L instead of 48L, which have solved these problems to some extent.
