Thank you for your input sir,

Actually, a few of the jackets in my wardrobe have been shortened in some way. Some successful, some unsuccessful. Although, I do agree with the points you are making (well said by the way) I did have some success with shortening a jacket.

The quarters on this 3 button suit came out really well to be honest, and the jacket initially went a couple centimeters past my fingers. (yes..I know it needs a good press.. photo is a couple months old..now I know better..)

Now, this one is something I posted recently:

Although, I liked how it came out after some tailoring. I still feel that since I had gotten it shortened, the button placement is a little off..

@smittycl I see, thank you for your input.

Conclusively, I feel that I will not be touching this suit, as you both gave very good advice. Both of you gents are right and I'll probably just leave it as is. I will end with this though. Albeit a costly procedure. I'd say the max amount to shorten a jacket is probably 2.5cm, but then again it really depends on how the jacket is made too and is my personal opinion on the matter. Also, thanks for helping me out guys-- it really helps to know your input on the subject.

Ignore those who tell you to shorten the jacket. It is not too long. It looks about right, frankly.

Great tie. The suit fabric mixed with the tie (+ disheveled pocket square) make everything look easy going -- despite being a suit and tie ensemble.

While I would not wear that, uh, hat with that suit, everything else is top-notch!

Howard's has really stepped up their tie game during the last couple of seasons. Very happy with the ones I have and I have had my eyes on that solaro tie as well. Looks good with that suit. I would possibly have chosen a different ps myself but that's more a matter of taste.
