There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I've worn this jacket and tie together before. Purple striped shirt OCBD and Shetland vest. Thoughts on the square.

@An Acute Style I really like that tie with that jacket, but the square doesn't work well with the tie. It's too "matchy matchy," IMO.

I thought it was matchy, but not too matchy. What would you recommend instead?

I think a light purple/lilac would work, probably solid; I'm thinking maybe a linen. Of course, white linen would work. I'd personally keep the square simple since the tie's pattern is rather busy and there's a lot going on with the sweater and jacket textures, as well as the shirt's stripes.

Never heard of Ghostwritten. What about Murakami brought it to mind?

This is maybe my favorite of your outfits. That suit really fits your frame well.
I have seen stripes on stripes work, and I think the key is having a very different scale of stripe on your tie and on your shirt. It isn't something I often attempt (in fact, I don't think I've worn a striped tie with a striped shirt for several years simply because I have such a hard time of it). Anyway, I don't think it is working well here.

I don't think it is the pattern overload so much as the suit fabric is very busy. Had it been solid, or even less busy, it would have been fine.

The vividness of the tie and the square work well with the earthiness of the jacket (and it is a very nice jacket).

@Claghorn well, actualy it was the other way around. i was reading David Mitchell and after Ghostwritten and book number 9, i was looking for something dreamy and with twists.. so a bookworm friend suggested Murakami and that was it. now that i come to think about it, it could be a nice firday challenge, posting with your favourite book/read, dont you think?

This would be a great Friday Challenge. Though the Friday Challenge thing seems to have died off of late, in terms of frequency and participation. Perhaps some novel challenges will reinvigorate it.
