1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Thank you mr CM.
Wish I could say the same about your last post, which is very nice - but then there are this BD on the otherwise beautiful and rather formal ensemble. Pity.

@Hal Freeman Not bad, another tie and trousers would be better. Navy tie and gray pants, maybe.

Interesting critique. I'm not sure how a sport coat, odd trousers, penny loafers, and an OCBD shirt could in any way be considered formal.

More formal than usual today. @MrDaniels , lightning does strike twice.

(Yes, the sleeves are 2cm too long. Will alter.)

This one picture almost appears "computerized" at first glance, almost as if it was run through Prisma! I'm guessing it's a lighting thing!

@heldentenor stellar ensemble! If I had to offer a critique, I'd probably say I wish the jacket sleeves were a tad shorter. But really, that's just nit-picking.

I'm not sure that's true. None of the people I have known from Nordic countries have ever given me the impression that they find sport coats, OCBD, odd trousers, or loafers to be formal. You could make an argument for the tie, but even that doesn't make much sense because ancient madder is a pretty classic choice for fall sport coats.

@Caustic Man He's not wrong. That would definitely be considered formal; even more so in Finland.

You lived in San Diego for a spell, right?

If so, hell, even our country (in parts) would consider that outfit formal lol. Looks great though, formal or no.

It doesn't take that much to be formal here; to wear an ensemble would fall under that category. Wearing a tie certainly does. Almost only the king wears one at a regular basis, ministers - not always. Commoners, never.
You must remember we are a homogeneous country of peasants and fishermen. Until we found oil some few years ago, now we are spending money like drunken sailors.
In some professions maybe; lawyers and stockbrokers, but for ordinary people it is not common to be dressed; people tend to wear the same: causal jeans/chinos, sneakers and t-shirt with a pullover, maybe a casual flannel shirt, unbuttoned at the top and every now and then not tucked in - except national day, x-mass, and events like weddings and funerals. Then people dress up in a suit or national costume.
Sweden is quite different when it comes to clothing, much more rigid. Denmark not so much...

Good combo and nice suit. I love how the lapels "roll". Is it a belt under the waiscoat ? If yes I would prefer braces with a three piece suit. My crazy oufit of the day. Sorry for the robot pose, I wanted to move when the pic was captured. [IMG] And in reality there is no gap between the trousers and the shoes, it's because I was leaning myself to take the pic.
