Blue Monday. Back to work. FIFA World Cup hang-over is real...

I like the top half, but the shoes remind me of the coneheads and the socks don't seem to go with the top half. Personal preference, but I would also lower the tie bar.

I would never have guessed that, but the poker handle makes sense.  I belive spoo's is for a similar deal.  so  your religious affiliation  isn't hurting your dressing, .  :satisfied:
Does spoo actually play poker a lot or something, I've always wondered. I've probably implied as much already but I play professionally.

I've talked with spoo about this and he actually used to play quite a bit just like me. He stills plays live, but a lot less often. Online poker was sick back in the day. After DOJ shut that down a lot of us had to get "real" jobs. :)
To be clear, I just play for fun anymore, but I consider myself pretty good.

As far as my religious persuasion goes, being poorly dressed is pretty much the norm. As you guys know that applies to most industries. That said I will say that I have had a pretty positive reception to my dress, without people making any remarks. Some traditionalists might consider it to be a form of vanity, but again I've seen a good reception so far.

My avatar is also related to this. He is John Owen, arguably the greatest theological mind of the puritans. While he was a Presbyterian, I find it beneficial to read the writings from many persuasions. If you know what you believe, you can take the good and leave the bad in addition to learning quite a bit. He strikes one of the best balances between academic intellect and practical religious "piety" - if you will. No dead intellectualism for him. While I greatly admire his life and works, I hope to never dress like him. :)

Looks very nice, Pliny. Good example of how darker trousers can work. But, on my monitor I have a hard time figuring out what colour they are exactly. Burgundy or brown...?

cheers - chocolate-y brown Fresco.
I would really like to go with a color more like this tho- from an earlier iteration of WAYWN

Not a fan of the texture of the jacket and shirt combo.

How so?

Here's something I wore a while ago, but I can only now post pics. I think it was Pliny who suggested trying to calm down this jacket with countryish stuff. I think it went okay:

They look too similar in the first picture.

Huh. The coat reads as textured to me, while the shirt is patterned with a smooth texture. I agree that the texture of the coat is a bit too similar in scale to the gingham, though.

That coat with an oxford might worry me a bit on the texture front.

I'm not a fan either, but sometimes one just has to experiment or comform himself with what's clean and pressed. :satisfied:
With this jacket I usually wear striped dress shirts or plain linens.
